Life’s journey in 90 days

Wouldn’t it be amazing to understand what life is all about, why we exist and what will the future hold?  As strange as it may sound, these questions are all answered in what you and I know as the Bible.  I read the entire Bible in 90 days to try and get a bigger picture of who God is.

I did this and blogged my experience each day.  1 hour of reading each day for 90 days is all it takes.  It was a life-changing experience for me and I would like you to give it a try.  Read some of my posts if you like.   From day 1, God begins to reveal who he is.

How does God reveal himself ?

God helps us to know and understand Him.  He does this by revealing Himself to us in two ways. First, through his General revelation (nature). Just look around at our world and look past the hustle & bustle. Look at nature and see God’s design that sustains our every breath. Psalms 19:1-2 says ” The heavens declare the glory of God; the sky displays his handiwork. Day after day it speaks out; night after night it reveals his greatness.” Imagine if our moon was larger or smaller than it is.  Many of our cities would be under water because of the large tides!  How many other planets can sustain human life?

Second, He reveals Himself through Special revelation (the Bible). The Bible is not just stories or rules, rather a glimpse of Gods love for His creation. The scriptures are not just words written by people about their experiences (like this blog). The Word of God is given to us By God through people. 2 Timothy 3:16 says “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

Reading the bible in 90 days – all the way through – has offered me a new perspective of God’s redemptive plan for His creation. While the scriptures are made up of 66 different books, it is also 1 book. Reading about 1 hour a day was hard at first but then I started to look forward to this dedicated time.  I invite you to give it a try.
